Equipment Requirements

Equipment and where to get it:

• Helmet (after your first couple Lessons)
• Long Pants (jeans or breeches)
• Riding Boots (cowboy boots or a boot with a heel)
• Sunblock/ bug spray as needed
• Water/ Snacks

Very little is required in order to begin your riding lessons at Dallas Dream Horse Academy. We provide helmets in the beginning, but if you decide to continue beyond your first couple of lessons, we require that you purchase your own helmet and appropriate clothing. These can be purchased from Dover Saddlery or Cavenders Store.

Dream Horse Academy requires helmets be worn at all times by ALL riders. We value you and your head, and we take our responsibility as role–models for our younger students VERY seriously. Any RIDING APPROVED helmet will do, your choice.

Riding pants (breeches or jeans) and either cowboy boots or tall  boots with leggings depending what your discipline is for the lesson are required for any serious rider. Gloves are nice too, if you have tender hands. Your own riding crop will insure you have it when you need it. If you are ready, you might wish to have spurs. Ask your instructor if you've "earned your spurs."
